The budgie I bought yesterday to go with the budgie I have already(They do seem to get along well!), he's from a pet store with a lot of other budgies in the cage, and now I've got it to get on my finger and allow me to pet his tummy.

Does that mean it'll be reasonably easy to tame? I didn't expect it to react so well. My other budgie isn't tame at all by the way, but the one I had with her before(An old budgie my mom saved from a cat) was very tame.
Love from the Netherlands!

I didn't lure it with food, I just used my finger to lure it over. Would pellets make it go better or is it better to have it just go on my finger like it does now?

Hey everybody!
I posted in here earlier this month about my rabbit Signy, who is around 5 or 6 months and started leaving droppings around the house after I went out of town a few days.

Anyway, today she peed outside her litterbox, which is something she'd never done before!

I'm wondering if this is stemming from the same issue of her not being fixed, or if I'm doing something wrong?
I try not to pull her out of her cage or force her back in, as I read that was important in litter training. Also, she always has access to her cage and her litter box.

I really don't want her to get into the habit of not using her box. This is also my first time with a house rabbit and dealing with these problems, so if you think I might be doing something wrong or not doing something I should be please let me know!

It's shitty webcam quality, but here's a picture to jazz this post up a little:

Grieving heavily for the loss of my Arthur, I convinced Beth to let me cuddle her. This is a very rare thing - she'll accept nose and ear rubs but nothing more.

I felt lumps, and examined the skin. It looks a lot like my eczema does, to be honest. It's lumpy, red, scaly and has dried blood, but she didn't get too upset when I was touching it.

I have taken pictures, if anyone has any clue what this is please comment. I shall try to get a cab to the vet tomorrow (the pavements here are a solid sheet of ice - I have fallen on my butt already, and had a few near-misses too). If no-one can take me I shall phone the vet for advice and just wait out the weather.

I've spent £400 on Arthur's illness and now I have to shell out for Beth too - and I lost my job this month. I'm so glad I have insurance!

Today is the second anniversary of adoption day.

Today I found Arthur dead in his cage. He evidently passed in his sleep. The grief is overwhelming.

Hello all, I'm a new member to the community. I've had my rabbit -- a brown lop ear -- for five years.

Recently, he's had skin troubles. The vet was sure that it was due to walking dandruff. He had some treatments and seemed to be getting better. He still has some flaky skin, but it's improved a bit. Still, his right eye won't stop running and has scabbed over now. I just noticed yesterday that the corners of his mouth seem to have either dry blood and/or scabs on them and that his chin is dirty.

I'm broke at the moment and seriously can't afford another trip to the vet, but I don't want to do NOTHING; I'm heartbroken for my sweet little boy. I just want some opinions on what this might be -- could it be diet based? I haven't given him nearly enough fruits and veggies lately. What would you recommend for a nutrient filled fruit or veggie? I can never seem to find a reliable diet list.

I'm sorry to dump all of this out there on my first post, but I'm desperate for help. Thank you all in advance!

how long does it take a parakeet to get used to you? mine doesn't seem to like me at all and i've had her for a little over a week. she freaks out when i put my hand in the cage to change her food or water. she never comes out of her cage when i leave the door open for her. she makes no noise and i never see her drink, i just saw her eat for the first time a few days ago and afterwards she was smacking her beak loudly as though she was thirsty. i also saw her sleep for the first time today and i'm concerned that my current sleeping pattern is really messing up hers.

i come home from work around midnight or later, then i go in my room and turn the lights on and watch tv or sit on the computer and then sleep from 5am to 1pm or 2pm. i noticed her sleeping when i walked into my room today around midnight again, but as soon as i sat down on my bed i looked up and she was wide awake, looking at me.

what can i do to make her more comfortable, to get used to me? will she ever want to sit on my finger, shoulder, or at least fly out of her cage? my boyfriend got her for me at petsmart, so i highly doubt she was ever hand fed or anything. should i consider keeping her in another room so my sleeping patterns and noise don't bother her, or will that just make her even more distant from me?

i've been doing a lot of googling, but i'm mostly just confused and worried. help? advice? :(

also, please include any advice you have on owning a parakeet for the first time! i'm trying to learn on my own, but i really don't want to do anything wrong.
